The Executive Management is responsible for the daily business activities by providing operational direction and affectingthe decisions as well as business strategic plan, investments, risks and policies endorsed by the Board of Directors and Trustees.
Martin has more than 25 year’s experience in the financial industry. He began his career in the financial markets in 1996 spending five years at the Bank of Namibia. In 2000, he joined STANLIB Asset Management and served as the Executive Director and Investment Manager, before moving to FNB Group to establish RMB Asset Management Namibia in 2004. After successfully building RMB Asset Management in Namibia, Martin resigned his position as CEO of RMB Asset Management in 2009 to set up First Capital Treasury Solution. Martin is a Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM), holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from California Intercontinental University; two Master’s Degrees in Economic Analysis (Macquarie University, Australia) and an MScFinancial Economics (University of London – external). Other qualifications include a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Namibia, a CAIB, an Advanced diploma in unit trust investments, a Certificate in Investments and Portfolio Management (UNISA), a Certificate in Government Treasury Management and Debt Administration (the University of Georgia in the USA – distance), and a Professional Certificate in Corporate Treasury Management (CTM) – New York Institute of Finance.
The Board of Director’s core responsibility is to set, manage as well as control the company’s vision and mission. They provide governance to ensure that the key business direction complies with statutory laws and regulatory requirements.
Ruusa is an admitted Legal Practitioner and member of the Law Society of Namibia for the past 20 years. She is currently employed at the Namibia Statistics Agency as Company Secretary and Legal Advisor. Ruusa started her career as a Candidate Legal Practitioner and Project Lawyer at the Legal Assistance Center. Thereafter she joined the Directorate Legal Counsel at the National Assembly as Deputy Director: Legal Counsel and Acting Director. Ruusa joined NAMFISA in 2006 as Board Secretary where her primary role was to advise Board and Management on business ethics and good governance. She holds an LLB Degree from the University of Natal, South Africa, and a BA Law Degree from the University of Western Cape. In addition, she holds an Intellectual Property Law Certificate from UNISA, a Senior Management Development Certificate from Stellenbosch University and an International Executive Leadership Development Program from Wits Business School in South Africa. She comes with a wealth of experience ingovernance having served on the Boards of the Public and Private Sectorsas well as non-governmental organisations such as the Red Cross and Namibia Organization of People Living with HIV/Aids (Nanaso).
