The Board of Directors core responsibility is to set, manage as well as control the company’s vision and mission. They provide governance to ensure that the key business direction complies with statutory laws and regulatory requirements.
Dr. Martin Mwinga Martin has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial industry. He began his career in the financial markets in 1996 spending five years at the Bank of Namibia. In 2000, he joined STANLIB Asset Management and served as the Executive Director and Investment Manager, before moving to FNB Group to establish RMB Asset Management Namibia in 2004. After successfully building RMB Asset Management in Namibia, Martin resigned his position as CEO of RMB Asset Management in 2009 to set up First Capital Treasury Solution.
Martin holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from California Intercontinental University; two Masters Degrees in Economic Analysis (Macquarie University, Australia) and Msc Financial Economics (University of London – external). Other qualifications include a bachelor of economics from the University of Namibia, a CAIB, Advanced diploma in unit trust investments, Certificate in Investments and Portfolio Management (UNISA), Certificate in Government Treasury Management and Debt Administration (University of Georgia in USA – distance), and a professional Certificate in Corporate Treasury Management(CTM) – New York Institute of Finance.
Jeremy George Jeremy is a registered Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Namibia (ICAN). He is currently employed as the Chief Operation and Commercial Officer at the Frans Indongo Group. He started his career by completing his training at Deloitte & Touché after three years and was an Audit Manager for a further 18 months. During this time, he was seconded to the Los Angeles and Toronto Deloitte offices for three months each, servicing major international clients.
He joined IJG Securities (Pty) Ltd in September 2007 as Financial Manager and assisted with corporate finance transactions. In November 2011, he commenced employment with VPB Namibia (Pty) Ltd, a private equity fund manager, as Senior Investment Associate. Jeremy holds a BCom Degree (Management Accounting) and Hons BCom (Financial Accounting) from the University of Stellenbosch and BCompt (Hons) from the University of South Africa.
Joseph Mukendwa Joseph has more than 10 years operational experience. He started his career at the National Training Authority as an Admin and Finance Clerk. Joseph was an instrumental part in the establishment of the National Training Fund. Through hard work, perseverance and sheer determination, Joseph moved from being an Admin and Finance clerk to become the General Manager: National Training Fund at the NTA.
Joseph has a Bachelor of Accounting Degree from University of Namibia and is currently pursuing his MBA through Namibia University of Science and Technology.
Ruusa Shipiki Ruusa is an admitted Legal Practitioner and member of the Law Society of Namibia for the past 18 years. She is currently employed at the Namibia Statistics Agency as Company Secretary and Legal Advisor. Ruusa started her career as Candidate Legal Practitioner and Project Laywer at the Legal Assistance Center. Thereafter she joined the Directorate Legal Counsel at the National Assembly as Deputy Director: Legal Counsel and Acting Director.
Ruusa joined NAMFISA in 2006 as Board Secretary where her primary role was to advise Board and Management on business ethics and good governance. She holds an LLB Degree from University of Natal, South Africa, a BA Law Degree from University of Western Cape. In addition, she holds an Intellectual Property Law Certificate from UNISA, a Senior Management Development Certificate from Stellenbosch University and an International Executive Leadership Development Program from Wits Business School in South Africa. She comes with a wealth of experience on governance having served on the Boards of the Public and Private Sector as well as non-governmental organisations such as the Red Cross and Namibia Organization of People Living with HIV/Aids (Nanaso).
